Once players have picked their hero, they are thrown into a quick story-based tutorial involving a princess in distress. They can deal heavy damage to single or multiple enemies. Archers are a versatile class that can take out enemies from long range. Mages also have the ability to heal their allies. Mages are “Glass Cannons” and can deal good damage to multiple enemies. Knights can only equip two-handed weapons like swords and axes.

Knights have high HP (hit points) and have skills to boost their defensive power. Players create their characters from a choice of three hero classes: Knight, Mage, and Archer, each with their own roles in combat. Wartune’s graphics are good for a browser-based game and it has a “classic” RPG style soundtrack. The game also features a classic soundtrack that players would expect to hear from classic RPG’s like the NES Final Fantasy Games and the earlier Diablo games. The game features graphics that seem a bit dated but work perfectly with the game’s classic RPG theme. The game combines together elements of RPG games with city building gameplay and resource management. Wartune is a fast-paced turn-based game reminiscent of Final Fantasy games, complete with cool haircuts and flashy moves. The regular browser version can also be played on Facebook.
